Today’s rep: Notice & Name

What’s been gently tapping you on the shoulder lately?

Name it.
No fixing. No action required.

That’s today’s rep.
300,000 Black women lost their jobs in 2025. It's 300,000 Black women lost their jobs in 2025. It's time to move ideas into action. The world is calling for your ideas and movement.

Will you embrace the call?
Subject: 8 months of possibility Dear Creativity, Subject: 8 months of possibility

Dear Creativity,
It took me eight months to finish this small project.

Long enough for doubt to creep in. Long enough for it to almost become a what-if.

But when I finally returned, perfection didn’t matter.
Only presence did.

And with the last stitch came something unexpected, pride. Not just in what I made, but in choosing to finish.

What unfinished project might be waiting, not for more time or perfection, but simply for our willingness to return and see it through?

Innovatively yours,
Dr. Abigail 💛
Subject: still Dear Creativity, Last month, I a Subject: still

Dear Creativity,
Last month, I almost walked right past a praying mantis on my morning walk. Large. Green. Completely still, right there in the middle of everything rushing by.

Something made me stop, and I’ve been carrying that moment with me ever since. In a year that arrived loudly, it felt like a quiet invitation to pay attention.

What might change if we treated stillness as a form of creative practice and trusted that paying attention is already a way of beginning?

Innovatively yours,
Dr. Abigail 💛
In 2026, I will start the year speaking on “Prot In 2026, I will start the year speaking on “Prototype Your Path: Co-Designing Tiny Experiments with AI for Wellness,” at Tech Intersections Conference taking place on Saturday, January 24, 2026 in Oakland, CA.

It is an honor to speak at this conference because it centers people who look like me, women of color who are passionate about growing their careers and using tech to do more. Tickets are now live, and space is limited, so if you are in the Bay Area, I highly suggest you register for the conference - by the way it’s free!

Subject: you don’t have to wait for spring 🌸 Subject: you don’t have to wait for spring 🌸

Dear Creativity,
I used to think fresh starts were reserved for January.
Or maybe spring.

Then I walked past poppies blooming in the middle of winter.

Bright. Delicate. Thriving in the cold.
They didn’t wait for the “right” season.
They began when conditions allowed.

It reminded me that beginnings don’t follow calendars.
They follow readiness.
They happen when we decide it’s time to begin again.

This makes me wonder:

If we defined our “new year” as the moment we felt ready for a fresh start, how many more of our ideas might move forward with ease and inspired action?

Innovatively yours,
Dr. Abigail
